Nyunanshin Kaisho
Kiyojute Ryu is a self-defense martial arts system composed of six general principles. They are Aikiho, harmony principle; Juho, yielding principle; Goho, strength principle; Bukiho, weapons principle; Nimpo, patience principle; and Shuho, taking principle. These six principles form the art of Shogei Toitsu Kempo, which is the foundation art of Kiyojute Ryu.
Individuals of all shapes and sizes can train with us. No previous martial arts training is necessary.
Kiyojute Ryu Kempo is now taught in the Chicago area.

Kempo training provides obvious physical benefits to health.
The aerobic exercise induced in the execution of self-defense techniques and
kata are beneficial to cardiovascular fitness. The intensity can be adjusted
so that it can be a light or a very heart pounding form of exercise. In
addition, the mind is exercised and one develops focus with continued
training. Eventually, one may see rewards from continued training in the
form of increased physical fitness, increased artistic ability related to
execution of technique, and, hopefully, an increased sense of spiritual
awareness.
One of the best benefits is the achievement of peace in the
heart, mind, and everyday life of the practitioner. Being a Bugei or Bujutsu
system our goal is to stop violence both within our hearts and within our
lives. In the western sense Budo or Bujutsu is interpreted as martial way or
art. Martial is derived from the Roman god of war, Mars. However, the two
radicals that make up the kanji “Bu” are Ka or Hoko meaning “spear” and Shi
meaning “stop”. Bu can be interpreted to mean stop spear or stop violence.
Hence, Bujutsu can be viewed as the art to stop violence.
Our goal is to train people in self-defense in a way that
doesn't promote violence or violent behaviors so that they may be able to
defend themselves against an attacker bent on doing them or their loves ones
harm. Beginning from the first class we hope to show you effective
self-defense that you can use immediately if necessary so that you may
return to learn more. We work with everyone at his or her level-no previous
experience is necessary.
